Niceville, Florida- May 12, 2010 - North Light Marina regretfully announces the postponement of the 2010 Swordfish & Tuna Challenge scheduled for June 17th - 20th due to the oil spill at Deepwater Horizon.

Tournament organizers have been closely watching the path of the spill and the anticipated response as it nears area shores.  The uncertainty of the timeline of cleanup efforts, the scope and extent of closed fishing grounds and the severity of coastal impact have driven the decision to postpone this year's event.

"We're obviously disappointed to have to make this announcement but realize everyone's focus and energy needs to be on helping to resolve this crisis." commented Therese van Gogh, marketing manager for North Light. "In shore and recreational boaters can still get out and enjoy our waters, so we'll continue to host activities and marina-based events in the meantime."

Plans are underway for fun activities and events during the weekend of June 18 - 20 at North Light Marina, to include an evening jazz & wine reception on Saturday, June 19th. Information on these events will be announced shortly.
